ONYX Motors has just unveiled the second version of its iconic RCR electric moped: the all-new ONYX RCR 80V. Built on the foundation of the RCR LTD, this updated model features an 80V power system—pushing speeds past 65 mph and delivering peak power of 18 kW. It combines higher performance, enhanced acceleration, and extended range (up to 130 miles in Eco mode) with a classic design and commuter-ready features like touchscreen navigation and upgraded suspension.
The RCR 80V continues to blur the line between ebike and motorcycle, raising questions around classification and regulation. ONYX founder Tim Seward notes the importance of working with legislators to support the growth of electric two-wheeled transportation across the U.S.
