We build machines designed to be ridden hard and modified freely — but equally for the rider who simply wants to feel alive on two wheels. Open by architecture. Honest by nature.
ONYX is for everyone who knows there is something on the other side of the mundane, and is looking for a way to get there.
THE BEGINNING
ONYX was founded by Tim Seward in 2016 with one conviction: the thrill of classic motorbikes belongs in the electric era. What started as a personal project — a single prototype turning heads at every intersection — became something bigger when riders kept asking the same thing: Where can I get one?
That energy led to an Indiegogo launch in 2018 that exceeded every expectation. Not because of marketing. Because the bike spoke for itself. From that moment, ONYX became a movement — a community of people who saw in these machines the same thing Tim did.
Freedom, expression, and the particular satisfaction of riding something that feels like it was made for you, because it was.
The kind that lives in the body. That you remember not as a thought but as a feeling. Wind. Sweat. Speed. Stillness. The particular aliveness that comes from being completely, undeniably present. And at the heart of that experience is something we believe every human being is born with. Creativity. The instinct to make, express, modify, and author. ONYX exists to awaken that instinct and give it somewhere to go.

ONYX was born in California. That is not incidental. That energy lives in the brand. The palette, the warmth, the grit, the joy, the provocation. All of it comes from here.
